The MotoGP eSport Championship final results

13th November 2017

The first edition of the MotoGP eSport Championship ended on Friday night in Valencia at the Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana circuit. Sixteen finalists, chosen in the previous months through a strict qualifying process, participated in the races live streamed and broadcasted globally with a dedicated multi-lingual commentary. The final drawed comments from some personalities in the MotoGP world, including Valentino Rossi and Guido Meda. The ten-round race, held on the virtual version of Circuit Ricardo Tomo, had the public literally holding their breaths, thanks to overtaking, falling and battles absolutely in line with the spirit of MotoGP. The winner is the very young Vincenzo “Trastevere73” Daretti, Italian, eighteen years old, to whom Carmelo Ezpeleta, patron of the world motorcycle race, delivered the first prize, the keys of a BMW M240i. The media attention collected from the event is also remarkable even in the days following the event, and above all, this is the definitive confirmation of how eSports can involve the public also in the motorsport environment.
